Special Friend for September
Our September Special Friend is Nancy Walker. Everyone likes to be remembered so each month we recognize someone who may be in need of special prayers and recognition. Giving Grace: Caregivers’ Support Group
You are invited to join us Sunday, September 6, for our Caregiver’s Support Group. We meet the first and third Sunday of the month at 3:00p in the church parlor. If you or someone you know is a caregiver or may become a caregiver soon, please come join us.
Children’s Sunday School Resumes Sunday, September 6
Our LUMC children’s Sunday School meets each Sunday at 9:15a on the 2nd Floor Classroom Hall in the Children’s Church room. Children ages 4 years through 5th grade are invited to join us!
Last Sunday Service in Fellowship Hall
Hopefully, this coming Sunday, September 6, will be our last service in the church fellowship hall as the plaster repair should be completed, and the sanctuary cleaned by then. Thank you for your patience as this repair and update to our sanctuary was being made.
Book Study
Our book study class will meet this Thursday, September 10, at 10a in the church Fellowship Hall. Feel free to join us. No need to have attended past lessons. We will begin a new study this week “1 & 2 Peter & Jude.” In a world that is not our ultimate home, the letters of 1 and 2 Peter and Jude offer timeless wisdom for believers seeking to grow in faith. This study compassionately leads you through these letters to help you discover how God provides direction and comfort, especially when traveling through dark roads. Let Pastor Lauren know if you would like to join the group and become a part of the discussion. Books are $6.00.
Bingo
Join us Friday, September 11, from 5:00-7:30p for an evening of bingo, hotdogs, and fun here in the church fellowship hall at LUMC. Enjoy a meal, exciting bingo games, raffle baskets, and lots of prizes! Bring your friends, family, and neighbors for a fun community night filled with laughter and connection. Everyone is welcome. We can’t wait to see you there! Dinner is $5.00, and Bingo cards are $1.00 a piece. All ages are welcome.
Flamingo Flocking is Done!
The flock has flown away until next year! Thank you for those who paid to have someone flocked and thanks to those who were flocked and accepted it with grace!
United Women of Faith Salad Social
All the women of the church are invited to attend our fall Salad Social on Tuesday, September 15, at 6:30p (location is still to be determined, but mark your calendar now). Please bring a salad or side dish to share. Dessert, bread and drinks are provided
2026 Flower Chart
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SIGNED UP TO PROVIDE ALTAR FLOWERS!. We still have q few openings through the remainder of the year. The 2026 Flower Chart is posted on the church office door. You may sign up for flowers to recognize special events or people in your lives, or in memory of loved ones. The total cost of both arrangements on the altar Sunday mornings is $107.00. You may make your check out the church with “Altar Flowers” in your check memo line. The church pays the florist each month.
CCM Needs
Special requests from CCM for the month of September are: Cereal, Jiffy Cornbread Mix, Soup, Canned Fruit, and Kids’ Juice Boxes. Donations may be left in the basket by the church office.
Office Hours
Church office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30a-12:30p. However, the church office will be closed tomorrow Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day holiday.
For your safety, our church entrance doors will be locked at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
