Weekly Announcements
United Methodist Men
The United Methodist Men will meet at 7:30a this Sunday, April 21, at the Sirloin House in Eden. All men of the church are invited to join us!
Special Friends for April
Everyone likes to be remembered, cared for, and reminded they are loved, so each month we recognize special friends in our church family who need a little extra care and would love to receive your cards, calls, and visits. Our April Special Friends are Liz and George Ferguson. Please send them a card or note to let them know you are thinking of them. Their address is 760 Pannell Road, Reidsville, NC, 27320, and their phone number is 336-349-6322.
Adult Sunday School
The Adult Sunday School class meets from 9:00-9:45a each Sunday in the classroom on the third floor. We would love to have you join us!
Church Council
The Church Council will meet tomorrow Monday, April 22, at 6:00 p.m. in the 3rd floor “Friendship Class.”
A Place at the Table
We invite you to find a place at the table with us on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Join us this Tuesday, April 23 , at 5:30p in the church fellowship hall. A main dish (fried chicken) and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish to share. ALL are Welcome!
Preschool Sunday
Be sure and join us next Sunday, April 28, at our regular morning worship service at 10:00a. Pastor Lauren has been working with the children from our Child Development Center to teach them a couple of songs to sing to you. We are so proud of our little CDC and the work our teachers do to encourage them to learn and grow!
Hand-in-Hand Ministry
Lunch for Teachers and Staff at Leaksville-Spray Elementary School.
On Wednesday, May 8, our Hand-in-Hand Ministry will be providing a boxed lunch for all staff and teachers at LSE. The boxed lunches were so well received the last few years that we have decided to continue those for this year. We are asking for monetary donations to help cover the cost of the lunches (thank you to those who have already given). Please indicate in the memo line of your check that your donation is to go to “Hand-in-Hand” ministry. Thank you for your support!
Mother’s Day Tea
In honor of all women who have been great examples of loving mothers, with or without children of their own, we would like to invite everyone (guys and kids too) to join us for a Mother’s Day Tea on Sunday, May 5, following our 10:00a service.
Mother’s Day
We are now collecting names for our yearly Mother’s Day bulletin for Sunday, May 12. There is a donation of $5.00 per name, in either Honor or Memory of loved ones. Collection envelopes can be found throughout the church. Please feel free to place your names and donations in the small basket on the small table at the front of the church where bulletins and empty envelopes are located, or pass them on to Sharon in the church office. Envelopes need to be submitted by Wednesday, May 8, to be included in the bulletin.
Drop-In Hours
While you are welcome to reach out to Pastor Lauren anytime via phone, email or at the church, the following drop-in hours, Thursdays from 9:00a to 12:00p, are a set aside opportunity for connection and relationship building. Hope you’ll drop by and sit a spell.
Sunday Flowers in the Sanctuary
Just a reminder that you can sign up for a Sunday to be responsible for that week’s flowers. If you would like to remember a birthday, anniversary, baptism, in-memory-of, or any other special occasion, this would be the perfect opportunity for recognition. Currently, the cost of the two arrangements on the altar is $86 for both.
You may sign up for a Sunday on the poster located on the door into the church office or call the church secretary and let her know which Sunday you are interested in. It will be printed in that Sunday’s bulletin who donated the flowers and for what reason (if any).
You may also make a donation to the Flower Fund in any amount in lieu of specifying a week. Checks may be dropped into the offering plate (Flower Fund in the memo line) or mailed to the church.
The church will pay the florist bill. You will make your check out to LUMC and put “flowers” in the memo line. You can either pay ahead or pay during the month you recognize a Sunday.
Office Hours
The church office is open Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30-2:30, during the week and Friday from 8:30-12:30.
For your safety, our church entrance doors will be locked at 10:15 a.m.
