Special Friend for March
Everyone likes to be remembered, cared for, and reminded they are loved, so each month we recognize special friends in our church family who need a little extra care and would love to receive your cards, calls, and visits. Our March Special Friend is Martha Holland. Please send her a card or note to let her know you are thinking of her. Her address is 518 Patrick Street, Eden, NC, 27288, and her phone number is 336-634-7165.
Adult Sunday School
The Adult Sunday School class meets from 9:00-9:45a each Sunday in the classroom on the third floor. We would love to have you join us!
Lenten Book Study
Join us Tuesday mornings at 10:30an during Lent, as we study Emerson B. Powery’s Immersion Bible Studies: MARK. Contact the church office to sign up and reserve a book! Books are $10, or can be ordered on Kindle if you prefer a digital copy. Cost should never keep you from studying God’s word and participating in the group, so contact Pastor Lauren if cost is a concern.
A Place at the Table
We invite you to find a place at the table with us on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Join us this Tuesday, February 27, at 5:30p in the church fellowship hall. A main dish (grilled chicken) and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish to share. ALL are Welcome!
LUMC Child Development Center
Registration for our 2024-2025 school year has begun. Registration forms are located throughout the church. Spots fill up fast, so be sure and register quickly. For more information, contact the CDC office at 336-864-4205.
Rockingham County Annual Food Drive
This year will be the 14th Annual Rockingham County Annual Food Drive coordinated by
Cooperative Ministries Food Pantry and the Rockingham County Food Coalition for the months of February and March. They are asking for your support to reach their goal of 50,000 pounds of food. Food may be dropped off at Leaksville Moravian Church on Thursdays from 9:30a to 12:00n, or you may bring it to LUMC and place in the CCM basket located in the hallway outside the church office. Thank you for your support of our food pantry.
While you are welcome to reach out to Pastor Lauren anytime via phone, email or at the church, the following drop-in hours, Thursdays from 9:00a to 12:00p, are a set aside opportunity for connection and relationship building. Hope you’ll drop by and sit a spell.
Sunday Flowers in the Sanctuary
Just a reminder that you can sign up for a Sunday to be responsible for that week’s flowers. If you would like to remember a birthday, anniversary, baptism, in-memory-of, or any other special occasion, this would be the perfect opportunity for recognition. Currently, the cost of the two arrangements on the altar is $86 for both.
You may sign up for a Sunday on the poster located on the door into the church office or call the church secretary and let her know which Sunday you are interested in. It will be printed in that Sunday’s bulletin who donated the flowers and for what reason.
You may also make a donation to the Flower Fund in any amount in lieu of specifying a week. Checks may be dropped into the offering plate (Flower Fund in the memo line) or mailed to the church.
The church office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30-2:30, and Fridays 8:30-12:30 unless a holiday falls on one of these days when the office may be closed.
For your safety, our church entrance doors will be locked at 10:15 a.m.
